Secret City – new film about the City of London Corporation

Posted by: Nick Shaxson in: Thoughts

I have written extensively about the City of London Corporation before, in Treasure Islands and on this blog. As I’ve noted, with its Worshipful Company of Tax Advisers, and much, much, much, more – it’s a damned peculiar organisation.

There’s a new film out now, entitled Secret City. I haven’t seen it yet – I must get hold of a copy, but it’s reviewed in The Independent:

“Yesterday the Frontline Club in London screened Secret City , the acclaimed investigative film written by Lee Salter and directed by Michael Chanan. The documentary explores the power wielded by the City of London Corporation and reveals its relationship to London’s position at the centre of global finance, and the economic crisis.”

It looks like it’s a good one. For those in the UK, there are more screenings to come (click here to get the details for each location):
